At the UHealth Sole Mia facility in North Miami, ArtRepublic expanded its partnership with UHealth to create an immersive healing environment that merges wellness, technology, and culture. As part of the hospital’s vision for whole-person care, the program was designed to transform clinical spaces into uplifting environments where patients, families, and caregivers experience inspiration and calm.
A site-specific commission digital artworks by Fernando Samalot reflects the beauty and meditative energy of nature, bringing elements of light, water, and nature forms into the lobby, creating a dynamic environment that mirrors natural rhythms to enhance mood.
Wellness Integration
The installation is informed by neuroaesthetic research, ensuring that the environment supports emotional, cognitive, and spiritual wellbeing alongside medical treatment. A soothly soundscape layers the artwork with clinically validated binaural beat music to deepen the sense of restoration, while evolving visual patterns encourage presence and relaxation.
The Sole Mia program establishes how healthcare environments can function as cultural, healing spaces, not just clinical ones. By transforming the hospital’s entrance into a restorative destination, the installation elevates patient experience from the moment of arrival, reduces perceived stress, and supports the hospital’s mission of delivering compassionate, forward-thinking care.
